Welcome to Catamoose
Hi! We are Sarah, Esha, Evan, and Will. We're in Mr. Constant's 4th period engineering class and we have been assigned a project on catapults. Have you ever wondered about catapults over the ages? Well, you've come to the right place. Catapults have changed and evolved so much over the ages. On this website, you will learn about how catapults differed from hundreds of years ago to now, and how we created our own catapult. You can even create your own! Make sure to read through everything carefully. Enjoy!

Gastraphetes "Belly Bow"

Oxybeles (Flexion Powered)

Onager (Torsion Powered) and Trebuchet (Gravity Powered)
45O B.C. and 500 B.C.
Onager~ The onager catapult was a fascinating catapult to most people. Instead of a bucket like the mangonel catapult, the onager catapult has a rope and sling. At this time, catapults had become more developed than ever, and mathematicians had been creating formulas to create catapults.
|
Trebuchet~ The trebuchet catapult was alike to the onager catapults, but it was much more developed. Even though this was one of the last major catapults to be built in catapult history, catapults are always changing, improving, and innovating all around the world.
